Row Ontario Update
Currently, singles and household doubles are permitted to row. A maximum of 10 participants per session is allowed. Physical distancing and masks must be maintained while in the boathouse or on the apron. A reminder that in accordance with Row Ontario’s regulations all members must complete a self-screening prior to arriving at the boathouse. The link, and check box to indicate a symptom-free result, can be found in the 2021 GRC Sign Up Sheet.

Thank you to everyone for your continued compliance with all regulations.

GRCA Park Capacity
Please note that GRC members are allowed into the park to row, even if the park is at capacity. To ensure that this remains the case, please only enter the park to row and then vacate when your row is over. If you would like to check the status of the park prior to arrival you can do so here.

Boathouse Opening Thank You
A special thank you to the volunteers who helped prepare the boathouse for opening. Dedicating a Saturday morning to move coach boats and the wooden 8’s out of the boathouse is greatly appreciated.

A reminder there is only one week left to take part in the ParticipAction initiative. The deadline for the event is June 30th, at which time points will be tallied and winners will receive ‘medals’ for their efforts. GRC in the News
In response to the Jumpstart Grant and the reopening of the GRC boathouse, Guelph Today wrote a great article about the community of the club, the benefits to the young female athletes at GRC as a result of the lightweight 1x purchased, and how the GRC and rowing have been impacted by the pandemic. If you are interested in giving it a read, it can be found on GuelphToday’s website

Coach Boat Driver Volunteers Wanted
Volunteers are wanted to help drive coach boats for Learn to Row sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays @ 6:00 pm and 7:30 pm. The time commitment would be approximately 1 hour and 15min. “Rowing provided a place to go, a community where people cared about what I did and what I achieved.”

Nancy Greene

We look forward to seeing what the summer season unfolds and reconnecting the GRC community. Please keep an eye on your email, as we will provide updates from Ontario’s Reopening Plan and Row Ontario as they become available.
