Requisition For Volunteers

In early 2022 (February/March) our Club will be adopting 5 new policies to encourage, manage and nurture a safe sport environment for all.  Athletes, coaches, officials, umpires, and volunteers have the right to participate in a safe and inclusive training and competitive environment that is free of maltreatment (abuse, harassment, or discrimination).

To this, we have a new role that we are seeking a volunteer to fill:  Complaints Resolution Officer.  This individual will liaise with the Safe Sport Lead, Michele Richardson, and ensure that any complaints related to Safe Sport are confidently, effectively, and efficiently handled and reported as warranted.

If you have an interest in this role, please contact us at info@guelphrowing.ca or let any one of our Board members know of your interest.

Notes of Appreciation

Thank you to the longstanding member of GRC, James White for his generous donation to the club. James White has been with GRC for many years, coaching high school throughout his time, and has been very generous to the Guelph Rowing Club. Thank you James White for being a strong supporter of the GRC.

Thank you to Mike Atkinson for the loan of his Edon Sculling Boat to the GRC Learn to Row Programs. This kind and generous offer allowed GRC programs to continue with ease despite obstacles presented during the past season. Thank you, Mike Atkinson!

Thank you to Hans Hansen for his time and effort to help with the upkeep of GRC. Thank you Hans for making the spool holder for putting in the course and building the singles’ rack in the boathouse.

A huge thank you to all of the coaches who dedicate and volunteer their time to coaching our Competitive, Learn to Row, Rec, and Masters Programs. Your effort and commitment to help programs and members grow and learn are greatly appreciated. Thank you to all the wonderful GRC Coaches!

Conservation Rd Speed Limit

A note to members driving to the GRC Boathouse, the speed limit for Conservation Rd is now posted. The speed limit on Conservation Rd is 70km/hr, thank you for driving safely.

Staying Connected

During the off-season, some of the members are meeting for a walk at Guelph Lake. We’ve created a sign-up sheet where you can find out the date, time, and meeting location.  Please join us!

Internally, you experience rowing as a graphic microcosm of life – solitude, learning, work, rest, nourishment, sharing, and ultimately challenge.

Allen Rosenberg, Olympic Rowing Coach.

Happy New Year to all Guelph Rowing Clubs Members. Best wishes during the Holiday Season, hopefully, it is filled with fun, friends, and family! Thank you for another fantastic year at GRC, we are excited to see where the next year takes us and all of our dedicated members.

Regards,
The GRC Board.
