Summer Rowing in Full Swing

Summer rowing is in full swing! The hot weather has not discouraged rowers, young and old, from getting out onto the water.

GRC Rowers Shine at CORA and Masters

Guelph Rowing Club competed at the CORA Championship Regatta July 14 in St. Catharines and at the Master’s Championship Regatta in Welland. All athletes were excited despite the heat. Top performances from Saturday included five gold medals by the Senior and Junior lightweight women as well as a silver in the heavyweight women. The success on Saturday carried over into Sunday as the Masters Women came home with both a gold and silver. As crews gear up for Row Ontario Championships, GRC athletes will continue to push boundaries and strive for even greater success.

High School Rowing

There will be a meeting for interested parents and athletes for the Guelph Rowing Club high school winter training program at the Guelph YMCA-YWCA at 7 pm Wednesday, January 11. Parents and students need to bring photo ID. We will discuss the winter training program and the upcoming spring on-the-water program. Please check the program page for further information and requirements.

First Annual (?) GRC Alumni Row

GRC alumni and current members gathered on Sunday for a celebratory row and social. Thank you to all the former members who came from near and far to rekindle memories and provide updates on their adventures. The group filled two 8s and a quad for a relaxing row on beautiful (if somewhat diminished) water. Thank you to the organizers for putting this great event together and we look forward to the next one.

Fall High School Learn to Row

The Fall Junior learn to row program for high school students begins in September.

Information Meeting: Thursday, September 8, 6:00 PM

Where: Guelph Rowing Club boathouse

Who: Parents and athletes

Lessons: Monday to Friday: September 12–23 (two weeks)

Cost: $170
