Try Rowing Sampler
Guelph Rowing Club has partnered with the annual 2Rivers Festival to offer a Come & Try Rowing free* event.
Rowing is a great way to get outside, enjoy beautiful Guelph Lake, meet new people, and learn a new skill. Discover the sport of rowing with this couple hour long introductory session. No experience necessary.
Date: Saturday, June 2 9am-noon (approximately 3 hours in length)
This free* event is open to adults 18 years or older. Registration required. The Guelph Rowing Club, through Rowing Canada, is providing insurance at no charge to the participant. Space limited – so register early. * Note GRCA park entrance fee may apply.

What to Expect:
You will first learn the fundamentals of the rowing stroke on the rowing machines at the boathouse, and then you will proceed to the dock where you will practice rowing with an oar in the water. All participants will get into eight man racing shells where you will receive on the water coaching from the club coaches and volunteers.
Make Sure to Bring:
- Fitted athletic clothing, socks and running shoes
- Water bottle to stay hydrated
- Hat and sunscreen
2Rivers Festival is a project of the Wellington Water Watchers, a non-profit organization dedicated to the protection, restoration and conservation of source water in Guelph-Wellington. During the 2Rivers Festival, enjoy a wide range of free events and activities throughout May and June that celebrate the beauty of the Speed and Eramosa river ecosystems and the healing elements of nature.
