Rowing is a safe sport when conducted with due consideration for the risks inherently associated with any outdoor water sport.
It is an individual’s responsibility for assessing their personal skills and for the outcome of their decisions and actions.

Safe Sport
This Guelph Rowing Club Safe Sport Manual contains policies for its rowing community. The policies are intended to promote a safe sport environment in a manner that allows for consistent, immediate, appropriate and meaningful action should any issues arise, but also to prevent issues from arising by communicating expected standards of behaviour to all participants.

Concussion Management
Preventing injuries is important to keeping people active throughout their lives. Some injuries are easy to see and treat but what about an injury inside the head? Brain injuries, such as concussions, don’t show on the outside and are not always obvious. Even when you can’t see the injury, a person with a concussion still feels the effects and needs the proper care to get better
